Ebblesway Courtyard – Access Statement
Our website www.ebbleswaycourtyard.co.uk has been designed to be easy to use and has full details of the property in general and the surrounding area. There are separate pages for each of the two properties including an up to date tariff and availability chart for each. When the cursor hovers over a photograph, a descriptive title is displayed. The website has also been designed to be compatible with the vast majority of browsers and is suitable for common tools to enlarge the print.
Enquiries and bookings may be made via email (there is a link on the website), or by post or by phone. All the relevant contact information is on the Contact page of the website and at the end of this document.
The nearest village is Broadchalke, 1 mile away. The road is not very safe for walking along but there is also a footpath from the property through fields to the village (30 minutes).
The nearest town is Salisbury (7 miles) which has a railway and a bus station. Accessible taxis are available at the railway station and in town. There is also a Salisbury to Shaftesbury bus (Number 29) from the bus station which will stop at the drive to the property on request. Please note however that this is a ‘country service’ and there are only 7 busses a day stopping at about 6 p.m. Please ask us for an up to date timetable if you wish to use this service.
In Salisbury there are good facilities for the disabled, including a Shopmobility service (01722 328068). If you have any specific requirements in this area, please ask us to help put you in touch with the appropriate department.
There is an excellent doctors’ surgery in Broadchalke with a dispensary and Salisbury District Hospital in only 6 miles away (and is on the village bus route)
We provide a welcome basket with some basic food items and a continental breakfast for the first morning including; bread, croissants, milk, orange juice, cereals, butter, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, jams, biscuits and fruit. We can arrange for special items to be purchased on your behalf given a few days notice.
2. Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
As this was previously a working farm, there is ample car parking. The main car park is on concrete and is approximately 40 metres via the courtyard garden to the Reception door. There are 3 steps down (200mm high and 450mm deep) from the car park to the Reception door, but these may be omitted by walking an extra 36 metres. Please note that the courtyard paths are not suitable for wheelchair use.
The Reception entrance is reached via a step up (200mm high and 300mm deep). There is a level corridor from the Reception to The Stables, which is all on the ground floor.
The Hayloft is accessed by continuing past the Reception a further 22 metres on the courtyard path, where there is a similar step to enter the ground floor of the cottage. Please note that The Hayloft has a steep staircase to the bedroom / bathroom and is NOT suitable for anyone with restricted mobility or vision.
All external doors also have a threshold which are approximately 80mm high and 150mm deep.

Decoration. The Stables has fitted green carpets in all areas except the bathroom which has ceramic tiles. All walls are painted Antique White with all woodwork left in natural finish.
